A Field of Webs by Todd Henson

A field of webs

Early in the morning when the sun peaks over the tops of the trees it just might illuminate the multitude of spider webs covering what appears to be every square inch of plant life in a field. It’s not common for me to face the sun when creating a photograph, but sometimes it’s useful, in this case backlighting all the fine strands of spider silk.

Just think about all those spiders, so very many, all around us. I realize not everyone is as excited about spiders as I am, but consider all the mosquitoes that will never have the opportunity to bite you because they first had a run-in with one of these spiders. 😊

Violet Wood Sorrel by Todd Henson

A soft view of violet wood sorrel

I absolutely love the color these violet wood sorrel add to the woodland trails where we find them. The violet against the greens around them is such a wonderful combination. And their delicate nature can really be enhanced by the softness of a very shallow depth of field. I found these in the middle of May 2022 and I look forward to finding more next year and of sharing them with you.
