Field NotesAMERICAN ROBIN

American Robin are extremely common birds, especially on people's lawns in neighborhoods.  They can often be seen cocking their head one way or another, listening for worms under the ground. Watch them long enough and you'll see them peck into the ground and pull up a worm.

The male and female look very similar, but the male has a darker head and tail, and the chest is a darker shade of orange. These photos are likely both males.
