Field Notes: MOUNTAIN BLUEBIRD

Mountain Bluebird are almost completely blue, darker blue on their heads and back, and lighter blue and white on their chest and underside. They are common in western North America.

This particular Mountain Bluebird was seen a short distance from a parking lot at a stop in the Rocky Mountains. It was harsh light, but potentially my only opportunity to photograph this bird, so I took a few shots.
