Field Notes: EASTERN TOWHEE
The Eastern Towhee reminds me vaguely of the American Robin, but it has a darker black head and back and a white chest. Being layered between the black and white really makes the orange stripe stand out. This particular Eastern Towhee was rifling through the leaves one morning in late November. You can see a little frost on some of the leaves. A beautiful bird.
